It is the love/hate relationships that I have that are most interesting to me lately. Chocolate comes to mind first. I am sure we all know what I mean there. I have a love/hate relationship with computers, my contact lenses, and exercise. Toilets, dishes, clothing, grocery stores, gas stations....they all fall on one end of my emotional spectrum or the other.I think moderation is in order. But what part of a poopy diapered baby belongs in the middle of anything?? He is either super stinky or super cute....and neither one of those invokes a feeling of gentle fondness. No, some things just stink and some things are adorable beyond all measure.
I have started a relationship with the mailbox as well. Which brings me to the real reason for this post. My last post was a real nail biter. A mystery. A parable of sorts. Nah, it was just stress.
We are waiting to find out whether or not Paul got accepted at these different schools. At first I thought it was just the simple difference between red and blue. Turns out red (the U) has nothing to do with anything and blue (BYU) has a wait list with Paul's name on it. Green has come into play (Oregon) and the surface of the sun (Arizona) is still on the horizon.
So there is the fence. Fences are nice when they keep pets, children, and pesky salesmen out of your yard. They are even nice adornment around a well kept yard. They are really not made to sit on. Fences are quite uncomfortable. No back rest, no cushion, very little wiggle room. I love my white picket fence that wraps my front yard and roses up neatly. I hate the fence I am still sitting on as we wait to know where we will go, or not go. It is the relationship that is fascinating. Who knew you could even have a relationship with a fence?

What a pain! I'd think it would hurt to try to sit on some fences (for example, a picket fence). I know waiting on decisions or making decisions can hurt. Who knew it would be such a good analogy!?!
I hope you find out soon where you will be!
You know, continuing the analogy. Some fences are a bit easier to sit on so that is why we do. Should I watch that movie.....should I not....hmmmmm. Not quite a picket fence cuz it just has a tiny little bad thing in it........not like some rated triple R movie that is complete horror and bedlam that is more like a picket or wrought iron dagger fence where whoa! No need to sit on it....we know which side we'd like to stand on.....
In this case I don't like the fence. You're having to sit on a painfully picketed fence and I just want to yank you off on "my side". :) Nope, you can't climb the fence, you can't even go through the gate!! You have to stay in "our yard" OKAY? Soooo, all of those other colors besides BLUE, do you hear me????? She can't come out and play. She has to stay in the BLUE YARD!!!
I like fences you can lean on - chatting happily with someone you love who lives on the other side.
Now I get it. Good luck!
